🥯 Step-by-Step: How to Make Air Fryer Cinnamon Crunch Bagels
Step 1: Make the cinnamon sugar topping
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly. Set aside — this will give your bagels that irresistible cinnamon crunch on top!
Step 2: Mash the bananas
In a medium bowl, mash two small ripe bananas with the back of a fork until smooth and creamy. The riper the bananas, the sweeter your bagels will be naturally.
Step 3: Mix in the flour
Add the self-rising flour to your mashed bananas and gently mix until the dough looks crumbly.
Step 4: Knead the dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface, dust your hands with a little flour, and begin working it gently until it comes together into a smooth ball. Don’t worry — it’ll be sticky at first! Just keep lightly flouring your hands and the surface as needed.
Step 5: Shape and top the bagels
Once the dough is smooth, divide it into portions and shape each into a round. Slightly flatten the tops, then spray with avocado oil and sprinkle generously with your cinnamon sugar mixture. They don’t have to look perfect — rustic is beautiful!
Step 6: Air fry to perfection
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for at least 5 minutes. Place the bagels in a single layer, leaving a little space between each one. Air fry for 6–7 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Step 7: Cool and serve
Let the bagels rest for a few minutes after cooking, then slice them horizontally and serve warm. Enjoy with butter, cream cheese, jam, or your favorite spread — every bite tastes like a cozy cinnamon hug!

Ingredients
- 2 small ripe bananas
- 1 cup self rising flour, more if too sticky. This depends on the size of the banana and how much mashed banana you will have.
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- Avocado oil spray
- 1 cup gluten-free all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Start by making the cinnamon sugar by combining brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
- To a bowl, add two small ripe bananas and mash them well with the backside of a fork or something similar.
- Then, add in the self-rising flour. Mix the batter until crumbly, then transfer dough onto a floured surface, flour your hand a little and start to work the dough until flour and mashed bananas are all combined and you are able to make a smooth ball shape. It is important to know that the dough will be very sticky at first. Flour on hands helps and make sure to flour the surface and the dough as needed.
- Form a ball shape, slightly flatten it. Spray the tops with avocado oil and top it with the cinnamon sugar mixture. They don’t have to be perfect!
- Preheat air fryer to 350F for at least 5 minutes.
- Do not overcrowd the pan. Leave room between each bagel because they do get larger.
